Help send our Sunset Beach IRB World Champs to defend their title

The return of the celebrated Port Waikato Roast Club – one night only!

To help our superb team to fund their Worlds defence, come and enjoy this ‘Return of the Roast Club’ dinner at 6pm on Saturday 13 July at the Community Hub.

Marlene Rika and Maggie Day will be our head chefs.

Ticket numbers are strictly limited

Tickets are $50pp and include a pre-dinner drink and canapes, dinner and dessert. You can buy one of a limited number of tables of eight* for $400.

*Tables of eight can be extended to 10 people (‘cosy’ setting) for an additional $50pp, on request request.

In Port tradition this is a BYO event.

5:45pm - Canapés and drink on arrival

6:30pm - Presentation of team, dinner, auctions and raffles, IRB raffle draw, dessert.

About the IRB World Championship

In 2018 the Sunset Beach IRB team were crowned world champions in Adelaide, Australia.

This September, 27 team members aged 15 — 32 will travel to the Gold Coast to defend their title. They’ll be competing against athletes from Australia, Japan, Great Britain, the Netherlands, France, Denmark and Poland. In the words of Lifesaving World Championships, ‘Beyond being a test of speed, these races showcase the incredible rescue and teamwork skills of the competitors.

Funds raised will help our superb young athletes pay for airfares, accommodation, meals, transport and competition fees.
