In 1959 the Sunset Beach Surf Lifesaving Club began protecting swimmers at Sunset Beach, Port Waikato. Read about our history here
As we head towards our 70th anniversary in 2029 the Sunset Beach Lifeguard Service Board and Sunset Beach Surf Lifesaving Charitable Trust would like to gather all club members together to help us create a strategic plan to take us into our 70th year.
This will define the club's direction and help establish achievable objectives and goals that align with the club's vision and mission.
We are calling all current club members to join the Board and Trustees in a strategic planning workshop.

• Develop and send a Draft Strategic Plan to the membership and working group for feedback
Friday 6th September 2024 Feedback closes for Draft Strategic Plan
• Feedback received and collated. Final changes to the Draft Strategic Plan made
Sunday 21st October 2024 Strategic Plan Adopted
• Draft Strategic Plan presented to SBLS Board of Directors for adoption
Sunday 28th October 2024 Strategic Plan Presentation on Labour Weekend
• Strategic Plan presented to our membership and community
