Sunset Lifeguards and supporters attended the Awards of Excellence. We had Finalists nominations and Service Awards.
Service awards were awarded to Brent Phillips, Glennys Smith and Janine Ibbs in recognition of their valuable contribution to Surf Lifesaving Northern Region.
Congratulations to Carolyn Edwards who was awarded Administrator of the Year, Malcolm Beattie who was awarded Volunteer of the Year and Shane Edwards was awarded Outstanding Contribution to Powercraft. Mark Senior was a finalist for Examiner of the year but did not receive the award this year. Outstanding effort by all.
In the Sports awards, The Sunset Beach IRB Team was awarded the Northern Region IRB Championship trophy for the 3rd year.
Overall, a very successfull night for the Sunset Beach Lifeguard Service, well deserved awards and great to see Sunset Beach taking away some of the awards on offer and recognition for their dedication to Surf Life Saving.
