Two Sunset Beach U19 crews travelled to the Whangamata Classic to compete in stormy conditions and Red Beach for the Owen Chapman Competition.
The Sunset Young Guns had a second overall for the Surf Boat Series as follows: U19 Men: Surf Boat Series. Titahl Bay SLSC (Darryn Stapleton, Callum Watter-Pointer, Sam Findlater, J’Adoube Elkington, Kyle Lang) 1, Sunset LS (Carl Morgan, Jack Morgan, Ryan Brash, Jack Boulton, Sam Hughes, Ted Marsh) 2, Piha SLSC (Benji Lines, Finna McIntyre, Kaveen Hanthi, Joseph Jacob, Mark Bourneville) 3.
The Sunset Young Guns are leading the U19 Boat Series points table after 2 rounds with two to go and the Sunset Hipsters are 4th. Next two series as follows:
Round 3 - North Island Boat Champs 6th - 7th February at Waihi Beach
Round 4 - Piha Big Wave 27/2/2016 - Piha
